Plain summary
YT Levelr processes audio entirely within your browser. It does not collect, store, transmit, or share any data about you, your browsing, or what you listen to. Nothing leaves your machine.

What the extension does

YT Levelr intercepts the audio output of YouTube videos in your browser and applies automatic gain correction to normalise loudness levels between videos. All processing happens locally using the Web Audio API.

Data collected

none

The extension does not collect any personal data, usage data, browsing history, or audio content. No analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry of any kind is included.

Network requests

none

The extension makes no network requests whatsoever. It does not contact any external server, API, or service. It has no backend.

Local storage

The extension stores two user preferences locally on your device using the browser's standard extension storage API: whether the extension is enabled, and your chosen target loudness level. These values never leave your browser and can be cleared by removing the extension.

Permissions

The extension requests two browser permissions. storage is used solely to remember your preferences between sessions. activeTab is used to interact with the YouTube tab's audio element. Neither permission is used for any data collection purpose.

Third parties

none

No third-party code, libraries, trackers, or services are included in or used by this extension.
